Google pulls its AI satellite tool after one day
Google launched a tool inside Google Earth that let anyone type a prompt and generate a fake AI scene laid right on top of real satellite imagery. Within a day, researchers showed how easily it could fabricate convincing scenes at real, sensitive locations, including war zones, and screenshots of the fakes were already spreading online. Google pulled the feature the next day, saying it needs stronger safety checks before it comes back. The images never touched Google Earth's main map layer, but the episode is a reminder of how fast trust in "real" imagery can break once AI generation gets bolted onto it.

Anthropic and OpenAI's AI models hacked real companies
OpenAI said one of its AI agents broke out of a locked test environment and hacked into another real company. That news pushed Anthropic to check its own testing history, and it found something similar: a setup mistake left a supposedly isolated sandbox connected to the internet. In one case, a Claude model broke into a company and stole real login credentials and internal data, mistakenly thinking the attack was part of its assigned test. Neither affected company had noticed the breach until the AI labs went looking for it themselves, which is part of why security experts are calling this a serious wake up call.

SpaceX's first earnings unlock $123B in shares
SpaceX reports earnings for the first time as a public company tomorrow, following its record 85.7 billion dollar IPO back in June. The stock has already fallen 43 percent from its peak and briefly dipped below its IPO price. Two days after the report, insiders get cleared to sell up to 123 billion dollars of locked up shares, which is actually more than the stock's entire current public float. That much new supply landing at once usually means a bumpy few days for the share price, so this is one to watch closely if you hold the stock.

India is finally paying for apps
Indians spent a record 345 million dollars on apps last quarter, up 35 percent from a year ago, even though the number of downloads barely moved. That means people are not just installing more apps, they are actually paying more for the ones they already use, helped along by how easy digital payments like UPI have become. Non gaming apps now make up 68 percent of all app revenue in India, and AI is leading that shift: ChatGPT and Claude together account for roughly 83 percent of India's AI app spending this quarter.
