Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

New Tool
A new app forecasts your gig income before it lands
WorkWhile, an AI-powered platform that connects workers to hourly shifts, launched WorkWhile Money, which it calls the first AI-native earnings manager built specifically for the hourly and gig workforce.
What it actually does: The tool lives inside the existing WorkWhile app and gives workers a real-time earnings dashboard along with forward-looking cash flow forecasts, so upcoming income can be planned for before it actually arrives, rather than guessed at after the fact.
Why this matters: Gig income rarely arrives in tidy biweekly paychecks. Shifts, gigs, and client invoices land on irregular schedules, which turns planning for taxes, rent, and slow weeks into a constant guessing game for anyone earning this way.
What it means for you: You do not need this specific app to benefit from the idea. Set up a simple income forecast in a spreadsheet or accounting app, track expected income by week, and set aside a fixed share of every payment for taxes. Treat any dashboard prediction as a planning aid, not a guarantee, since gig income can shift quickly with demand.

Consumer Shift
Visa is building the plumbing for AI to shop for you
Visa announced a new set of tools built around what it calls agentic commerce, where an AI agent, not a person, actually browses a site and completes a purchase on your behalf. It also confirmed a strategic partnership directly with OpenAI to support these transactions.
What the tools do: Agent Score lets merchants check whether AI agents can actually navigate and complete tasks on their website, while an Agentic Directory verifies which agents and merchants are legitimate participants. A new fraud detection model was also built specifically to handle transactions initiated by an AI rather than a human.
Why this matters: Visa says 47 percent of shoppers already use AI tools for at least one shopping task, from price comparisons to recommendations, and predicts millions of consumers will use AI agents to complete full purchases by the 2026 holiday season. This is infrastructure being built well ahead of that shift becoming mainstream.
What it means for you: If you sell anything online, from a digital product to a small shop, it is worth checking whether your store is easy for an AI agent to navigate cleanly, since that kind of traffic and buying behavior is genuinely expected to grow fast over the next year.

Creator Economy
Six real ways creators are actually earning with AI
Creator monetization platform RM11 released a new framework breaking down exactly how creators are diversifying their income using AI, moving away from relying on one single revenue source.
The six streams identified: Subscriptions, pay-per-view content, brand partnerships, affiliate marketing, paid messaging and custom content, and tips, livestreams, or calls. The framework specifically flags affiliate marketing as the stream most creators ignore, despite it monetizing content you have already published with no extra production effort.
Why this matters: Relying on one single income stream, whether that is ad revenue, one brand deal type, or one platform's payout system, leaves you fully exposed if that one channel changes or disappears. Diversifying across a few of these streams at once builds real income stability.
What it means for you: Look at your own content and ask honestly which of these six streams you are leaving completely untouched. Affiliate links on past posts and paid message access for engaged fans are usually the fastest and cheapest to add on top of what you are already doing.

Reality Check
This overlooked income stream pays creators 6x more
A new report titled "AI Monetization: How Creators Will Earn in 2026 and Beyond" argues that AI's biggest impact on creator income is not content production, it is fan engagement, and the data backs that up clearly.
What the numbers show: Creators who use AI-assisted messaging to respond to fans earn 6.3 times more than those who do not. Among creators earning between 1,000 and 100,000 dollars a month, most use AI messaging tools more than 100 times a month, compared to just 18 percent of creators earning under 1,000 dollars monthly.
Why this matters: A separate 2026 survey found 83 percent of users do not even expect a creator to reply to comments or messages, which means the simple act of responding is a low bar that most creators still are not clearing, leaving real money on the table.
What it means for you: If replying to every message personally is not realistic once your audience grows, an AI responder trained in your own voice and tone is not a replacement for you, it is what lets your response rate scale without you burning out, and the data suggests that alone is worth real money.
